Handi at the 5th Halal Food Fest Milton: A Weekend of Food, Community and Connection

There’s something special about food festivals. They bring people together around the things we all understand: good food, good company, and shared experiences.
This year, Handi was proud to be part of the 5th Halal Food Fest Milton, where we had the opportunity to connect with thousands of attendees, showcase our products, and be part of a weekend filled with food, entertainment, and community.
A Celebration of Food and Community
Halal Food Fest Milton brought together food lovers, families, creators, and businesses for a celebration of halal food and culture. With an estimated 40,000 attendees, the festival created an incredible opportunity for brands to meet the people they serve in person.
For Handi, the event was about more than simply having a booth. It was about creating an experience where people could discover our products, try something new, and spend time with the Handi team.
Events like these give us a chance to step outside the grocery aisle and connect with our community face to face. We get to hear what people love, discover the products they already know, and introduce them to something they may not have tried before.
Bringing Handi to the Festival
Our team worked hard behind the scenes to bring the Handi experience to life.
From setting up the booth and preparing our activations to welcoming visitors throughout the day, there was a lot happening behind the scenes. Once the festival began, the booth quickly became a place for people to stop by, discover Handi products, sample different offerings, and connect with our team.
One of the highlights was getting our products directly into the hands of consumers. More than 9,000 to 10,000 festival attendees had the opportunity to sample Handi, Sherbon, and Meateor products throughout the event.
For us, those samples were more than just a chance to taste our products. They were an opportunity to introduce people to the flavors and products that are part of the Handi family and hear their reactions firsthand.
From Familiar Flavors to New Discoveries
Food has a unique way of creating connections. A familiar taste can bring back memories of home, while a new flavor can become part of a completely new food experience.
Throughout the festival, we saw both.
Some visitors came to the booth already familiar with Handi and excited to see the products they know and love. Others were discovering the brand for the first time. For our team, it was rewarding to see people explore the range, ask questions, share their favorite products, and enjoy the experience.
It was also a reminder of why accessibility matters. For South Asian families living in Canada, having access to familiar ingredients and flavors can make everyday meals feel a little closer to home. At the same time, these products can introduce South Asian food to people who are discovering these flavors for the first time.
More Than a Festival
The 5th Halal Food Fest Milton was a celebration of much more than food. It brought together a diverse community through culture, entertainment, local businesses, and shared experiences.
Being part of that environment was meaningful for the entire Handi team. We had the chance to meet customers, families, food enthusiasts, and fellow businesses while experiencing the energy of a community that continues to grow.
The conversations, smiles, reactions, and moments shared at the festival are what we will remember most.
Looking Ahead
As the weekend came to an end, we left with more than memories from a busy festival. We left with new connections, valuable feedback, and an even greater appreciation for the community that supports us.
To everyone who stopped by the Handi booth, sampled our products, spoke with our team, or simply shared a moment with us, thank you.
Your support is what continues to inspire us to bring the flavors you know and love to Canadian kitchens.
We’re proud to be part of this community, and we look forward to seeing you again at the next one.
